Measure your dog from nose to the base of the tail while it is lying stretched out, then add 6–8 in (15–20 cm). That is the sleeping length you need. Between two sizes, take the bigger one.

An oval boat-shaped dog sofa bed with the wall higher at the back and sides, and an inner pad that lifts out on its own for the wash.
- The slept-on part comes out. The inner pad lifts out, so it washes without the walls going in with it.
- Polar fleece inside, Oxford outside. Two fabrics, because two different things wear them.
- Water sits on the surface. It is water-resistant rather than waterproof, so a spill stays on the Oxford face for a while instead of going straight into the filling.
- The wall rises where a dog leans. High at the back and sides, dropped at the front where your dog steps in.

Five sizes, 16 x 12 x 5 in (40 x 30 x 12.5 cm) up to 39 x 26 x 6 in (100 x 65 x 16 cm). The walls take up room inside, so between two sizes take the bigger one.

Every size is listed in inches, with centimetres in brackets right after. Where a bed has raised sides, the inside sleeping area is smaller than the outside dimensions.
Measure your dog nose to tail lying down and add about 6 in (15 cm). If they sleep curled, a smaller round bed can work. If they sprawl, size up.

A good product comes with a frame and a thin mattress. It's a bit thin on its own, so I recommend making a blanket or something over it. I bought a product for my boxer dog; overall it's okay and good, but there are better options. I bought XXL.
