Before you pick a size
Measure your dog from nose to the base of the tail while it is lying stretched out, then add 6–8 in (15–20 cm). That is the sleeping length you need. Between two sizes, take the bigger one.

A sofa-shaped dog bed with walls on every side and the front dropped low, in a sage gingham check with a pinstriped seat cushion.
- Enclosed, not a box to climb into. The walls surround a dog and the low front is the way in.
- The low front helps older dogs. On a bed with 8 in walls, that drop is the first thing a stiff dog notices.
- Piped welt along the top. The top edge takes the leaning, so that is the seam that is built up.
- Filling in four pieces. The padding stays spread instead of collecting at one end.
What size should I get?
Two sizes, 20 x 16 x 8 in (50 x 40 x 20 cm) and 24 x 20 x 8 in (60 x 50 x 20 cm). The walls take up room inside, so between two sizes take the bigger one.

Every size is listed in inches, with centimetres in brackets right after. Where a bed has raised sides, the inside sleeping area is smaller than the outside dimensions.
Measure your dog nose to tail lying down and add about 6 in (15 cm). If they sleep curled, a smaller round bed can work. If they sprawl, size up.

Two fabrics that do different jobs: a gingham check on the walls, a finer pinstripe on the cushion, joined by a piped welt along the top, the seam that takes the most leaning.
